Case Study:
Student is attending a class with a total of 20 students.
The child’s goals are to stay on task during class and stay organized. He arrives to class without an agenda, without a binder and rarely completes his homework because he misplaces his handouts.
Strength: Oral skills.
Activities and approaches:
- create quizlets (the largest flash cards and study games website where you can listen to the words) in order to help the student practice learning the definitions and the pronunciation of vocabulary words.
- the student will use toodledo (a task and note manager that can synchronize to an iPhone or iPad or just on the web page) in order to be able to access homework assignments and not rely on whether he brought his agenda to class or not.
- SMART notebook (a learning software that helps bring interactivity to the classroom to help engage students) activities will help the student with tactile learning
- I would use studystre.am (an integrated learning platform that uses videos, news, blog posts, magazines, movie) with a set of headphones to help the student learn appropriate vocabulary using his visual and aural skills.
